Conserving Resources

You will find us nestled among the rolling hills of Woodstock, Connecticut. This rural northeastern part of the state falls within the federally designated “Last Green Valley Corridor.”

We are situated on 210 acres, 180 of which have been donated for preservation to the Wyndham Land Trust whose mission is “to conserve the natural resources of Northeast Connecticut – the water courses, swamps, woodlands, and open spaces, the plant and animal life therein, and the scenic natural and historic sites – all of which are very much a part of the unique character and beauty of all communities in Northeast Connecticut.”

Open to the Public

The 100-acre Linda Rapoport Memorial Preserve and the 50-acre Paul and Avis Spalding Preserve contain walking trails through pasture and woodland that are free and open to the public. The trails are suitable for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. This protected land is a habitat for wildlife flora and fauna and contains one of the largest vernal pools in northeastern Connecticut.

You can access the trailheads from Pulpit Rock Road and Calkins Road, and pets on a leash are welcome.
